Scale
Choose the presence, not merely the dimensions.
The most common error in acquiring art for an interior is buying too small. A work sized to the furniture beneath it will read as decoration; a work sized to the wall will read as a work. The three scales below are offered for that reason.

Hanging
Centre the work at 145–150 cm from the finished floor to the midpoint of the image — eye level for most standing viewers, and the convention used in galleries. Above a sofa or console, leave 20–30 cm between the top of the furniture and the base of the frame. In a group, hold a consistent 6–10 cm gutter and align on a shared horizontal axis rather than centring each piece individually.
Light
Avoid direct sun on the face of the work, regardless of glazing. Warm, indirect light at 2700–3000K renders the neutrals as intended; cool daylight-balanced sources push the greys blue and flatten the mid-tones.
