Care

A well-hung work asks almost nothing of its owner.

Light

Hang away from direct sunlight, and away from a window that throws a hard rectangle of light across the wall at any hour. UV-filtering glazing slows fading; it does not stop it. Warm, indirect light at 2700–3000K renders the work as it was proofed.

Atmosphere

Cotton rag is hygroscopic. Avoid bathrooms, unventilated kitchens and exterior walls prone to condensation. A stable 18–22°C at 40–55% relative humidity suits the paper indefinitely.

Handling

Handle an unframed sheet by its border, with clean dry hands or cotton gloves, and never allow anything to rest on the printed surface. Store flat between sheets of archival glassine, never rolled for long periods.

Cleaning

Dust the frame and glazing with a dry microfibre cloth. Acrylic scratches easily: use no solvent, no glass cleaner, no ammonia and no paper towel. If the glazing is marked, contact the atelier rather than attempting a repair.
